Jacquire King

Multiple Grammy-winner producer / engineer / mixer Jacquire King : “Eric and my friendship goes way back… years ago I engineered for and along side him... he has alway been a no compromise sonic master. It’s that passion and attention to detail without limit that is his inspiration to create the UTA gear that we can now all own. Not only is it some of the best sounding equipment you can record with, but it’s remarkable in it’s innovative design and application. If you don’t have at least one piece of UTA's lineup you are missing out. Hats off to it’s creator.

Chris Tabron

Producer / Mixer Chris Tabron : “UTA has figured out a way to design a compressor that is more than a faithful recreation of a classic, but one that has the flexibility of modern workflows, and stunning fidelity. It can give me that gentle finishing touch across my mix, pounding detail across a drum bus, or keep a vocal both controlled and compelling. The Unfairchild 670M II has proven time and again to be the shortest distance between an inspiration coming out of the speakers.”

Shawn Everett

Producer / Mixer Shawn Everett : “ Unfairchild is by far the best compressor I own. Before I actually owned one I had the opportunity to use one on a Kacey Musgraves record. I realized that I had printed almost every track in every session through the compressor. I realized I had to own one. Since then I’ve been using it all day and every day since. Two weeks ago I started a new project and I used it on my mix buss. When I was finishing my mixes I went to a studio with an original Fairchild. I A/B’d the two mixes and immediately chose the Unfairchild. This compressor is worth it’s weight in gold. Amazing!!”

William Garrett

William Garrett, Chief Engineer at Spotify Studio: “Having the Undertone UnFairchild here at Spotify’s NYC recording studio is a mind blowing addition, for me as the chief engineer and for the clients we record and mix as well. It has become a focal point of any discussion of high quality audio and the blending the digital and analog worlds. The classic sound and the updated modern features make it a go to for recording as well as mixing. For recording, we’ll pair it with great mics, vintage mic pre’s and use it on everything from drum overheads to acoustic guitar to horns to vocals. In mixing, it has become a permanent hardware insert on the mix bus. Our mastering engineer noticed the difference right away! We record and mix two to three sessions a week here with an amazing array of very skilled, experience and talented artists. The Undertone Unfairchild has become an important part of making both the artists and the Spotify Studios team incredibly proud of the amazing tracks we create together.”

Ryan Hewitt

Producer / mixer Ryan Hewitt : “ The MPD4 is seriously one of the most significant and original developments in the capturing of audio in recent memory. It’s far from “just another preamp” and is a serious upgrade for every signal that I have put through it. The little switches make huge differences in tone, and this thing can go from straight-wire-with-gain to a nasty beast to be the basis of nearly every sound I could want. I’ve already found use for it in rock, folk, bluegrass and electronic music and can’t wait to get into my next recording session with it. I’m gonna need more of these for sure.”

Matt ‘Linny’ Linesch

Producer / mixer Matt “Linny” Linesch : “The UnFairchild has unlimited possibilities for creativity. It has remained part of my signal chain, usually on my mix buss, from the day Eric dropped off the unit.”
